The church was built in 1848 (extended in 1850-1851), next to the first Zakopane chapel founded in 1800 by Paweł Gąsienica. It is a single-nave church with walls of a log construction, planked outside and inside with vertically laid boards. In the front there is a porch from 1947, inside there are three altars, made by the folk sculptor Wojciech Kulach from Gliczarów. In 2003 the church underwent restoration work
