Bazylika św. Michała Archanioła i św. Stanisława

An 18th-century Catholic church and sanctuary with Baroque decor that also houses a crypt

The current Baroque church of St. Michael and St. Stanislaus was built between 1733 and 1751 according to the original plans of architect Anton Müntzer, modified a few years later by Antonio Solari, who redesigned the building's facade and interior design. The entrance to the church is preceded by a staircase, the steps of which bear the names of donors supporting the renovation, which was carried out in 1888-1899 and led by Karl Knaus.
The church's main altar contains a painting by Tadeusz Kuntze, made around 1758 and depicting Michael the Archangel. In the left, south aisle is the altar of St. Stanislaus. It contains a 17th-century painting of the saint, as well as a relic in the form of a wooden altar step, on which traces of the bishop's blood were said to be preserved. The wall to the right of the altar also bears three exposed traces of blood, covered by glass covers in a metal plaque.
